Happy New Years!!! We had our annual Schipper New Years Party where we celebrated the new year at 8:00pm. Gracyn was sooooo excited to drink from the big wine glasses to toast. Of coarse, hers AND ours were filled with sparkling cider! So much fun!
Wyatt is getting to be such a big boy. He is crawling like a mad man and pulling up and hurting himself on EVERYTHING! He also got his two top teeth last week. I truely am in denial. I can't believe that my little baby will be 10 months old in 2 days!!!
We also had another big first in the Schipper household. Gracyn got her first 'real' hair cut. Up to this point I have given her several bang cuts. She was so brave and excited. I couldn't part with more than one inch of her beautiful locks. Take a look....she looks absolutely adorable after!
Gracyn and I went to her first movie ever on the big screen a couple weeks ago. She LOVED it and did not want to leave. She has been talking about Princess Tiana non-stop. Today we picked out Princess Tiana bed sheets at Target!
What a magical holiday! It was so much fun celebrating this Christmas with our family! It still is wild to believe that we have two babies! Gracyn was all hyped up this year for Santa Claus. Luke had been hearing reindeer on the roof for weeks and Gracyn was anxious for him to come. She really got the whole concept this year and requested several gifts from Santa which included a kitchen, Doc - the dwarf from Snow White (yes, Santa and his elves worked really hard in building Doc), a color book and a hat. Grandpa and Grandma B got away from the frozen tundra to join us for the week. We had a wonderful time enjoying the weather with nature and beach walks, park time, and cooking delicious food. Luke prepared the Schipper traditional prime rib and it turned out perfectly thanks to the great coaching from Grandpa Schipper! Grandma B and Gracyn whipped up a batch of monster cookies and Grandpa J and Gracyn made Great Grandma's secret recipe of donuts!!!! YUMMY! We opened lots of gifts and were able to share some fun moments on Skype with Grandpa and Grandma Schipper and Uncle Adam and Katy! We hope you and your family had a magical week. We miss you all! AND are looking forward to the New Year's party at our house. The guest list includes Daddy, Mommy, Gracyn and Wyatt!
After much deliberation, Wyatt finally got his first hair cut today. The comb over was getting out of control AND in his eyes. He looks so much like a big boy now!
We also celebrated Randy's 31st birthday with chocolate chocolate cup cakes! Yummy! We are sad to see him leave tomorrow for Connecticut. It's been a blast having him stay here!
We had an awesome Halloween! My work celebrates the festivities to the fullest. My team and I dressed up as telecommuters. Gracyn and Wyatt' s school celebrated with a parade through my work which was a blast. We went to Miller's house and went trick or treating with Lindsey, Sarah, and Katie. Duane cooked up some serious BBQ in the smoker egg. Delicious! Wyatt stayed awake until the end of the party. He made such a cute skeleton. Snow White had a very looooonnnggg weekend with all of the sugar! Not to mention.....Luke and I celebrated our 13th year of kissing. Happy Halloween!
One last thought, Wyatt got his two bottom teeth in last week! So cute!
I recently had to go to Las Vegas for work for 4 days. Grandpa Schipper flew in to help daddy with the kids. They had a great time.....but were exhausted by the time that I got home. It was so good to see my babies when I got home. This is the longest that Wyatt and I have been apart.
We are excited to have Randy staying with us as he is visiting South Florida! Randy went to a yachting school in Fort Lauderdale and is thinking of getting a job out on a big boat. It is so nice to have him here. He is getting a true taste of how crazy the Schipper family of four really is! It really is nice to have family here for more than a few days. We are hoping he stays until Thanksgiving???!!!
It feels like we haven't posted on the blog forever. We have been busy! Wyatt turned 6 months old this Saturday, the 19th. I can't believe that it has already been 6 months! Our baby is now officially a big boy! He is 17.5 lbs and 27 inches. We had his 6 month appointment this week and found out that he has a mild case of torticollis, which basically means that he has a stiff neck on one side. We start physical therapy on Tuesday. We will keep you all updated. It is always something! We are having a blast with Wyatt. He is sooo happy and mellow. He is trying to sit up by himself, but still needs a little help from the boppy. He is talking up a storm and says "dada". Both he and Gracyn's first words were "dada"! Poor mommy. Last week we also started him on real food. Gracyn and I were busy over Labor Day weekend making baby food. He LOVES the sweet potatoes.
Gracyn had a big weekend. She went the the Delray Beach Public Library for the first time. We managed to get out of there with only 5 books.
Luke and I celebrated out 5th wedding anniversary on the 14th. WOW!
Grandma B came down for a long weekend to visit and to babysit the kids so we could enjoy our anniversary together. I took the day off of work on Friday, and the 5 of us headed to the Boca water park. Luke and I also went to a movie, 500 days of Summer, and grabbed some coffee. I loved the movie! On Saturday, Luke and I went to our 5th Dave Matthews Band show in Florida. Luke had t-shirts made up for the festivities. What a sweetie! We tailgated in the mini van and enjoyed some Leinies Honey Weiss. Luke found a 6 pack at Whole Foods. It's a hard item to come by in these parts. The show was awesome and we had a great time.
Wyatt turned 5 months old on the 19th. I really can not believe it! My baby is getting too big too fast, 17 pounds! He loves to stand, with our help of coarse, and is putting EVERYthing in his mouth. He still is the happiest baby I've ever met. He smiles, squeals, and giggles nonstop. Wyatt tried cereal for the first time this week and loved it! Gracyn was a big helper.........
Gracyn vocabulary is incredible. Her new favorite phases are, "Oh my's Gosh!" "He's my little brother, MINE!" and "Nickels!" aka Knuckles.
These past 5 years have been absolutely amazing. I married the man of my dreams AND have 2 beautiful children. Is am so excited to see what is in store for our family of four in the next five years.
Our Minnesota adventures are always fun but hectic. Our main goal this trip was to get Wyatt baptized and we succeeded.....barely. I came down with a horrible case of the stomach flu the day before. I thought for sure I had missed the dreaded flu that was being passed around my work and their daycare....but it seemed to find me 1700 miles away. The baptism was perfect. Grandpa and Grandma Johnson hosted many friends and family after the event for good food and drinks. I can't thank them enough. We had such a wonderful time. Uncle Dan and Lora took on the big role as godparents. Wyatt couldn't be more excited.
Gracyn has a blast playing with all of her Minnesota friends. She can not stop talking about Addision. We had such a great time with Claudia and Addi at the Como Zoo. I miss them both so much already. Gracyn also got to see Brody, Alex, Hailey, Tyson and Chole. I can't believe how many babies have been made since we moved to Florida!
Luke and I had a fun night out on Friday at a local brewery, The Herkimer. Katy (soon to be my sister) and I dominated as Corn Hole champions! The whole crew came out to drink some good beers (and shots) like old times. Grandpa and Grandma Schipper babysat.
Luke also got to go to a Minnesota Twins game with Dahline where they sat in some sweet seats!
Uncle Adam, Katy, and Kelly made wonderful hosts. It was so much fun to spend the night at their houses. Thank you!
It's hard to believe that the next time that we will probably be in Minnesota is when my baby brother gets married next July! I still can't believe that he is old enough to get married.
We had a relaxing HOT 4th of July weekend! We went to the Palm Beach Zoo on Saturday where Gracyn fell in love with the monkies! Wyatt slept through the whole zoo tour. Gracyn had a blast playing in the zoo fountain on the way out. We grilled out fresh salmon and shrimp where Gracyn proceeded to eat the majority of our dinners! We had no clue she was such a huge seafood fan.
Gracyn's vocabulary is so crazy these days. She is already talking like a teenager! Some of her funny sayings are:
What's up guys? What are you guys doin? I need privacy.... I have to poopy! Chocolate munckins (donut holes) and chocolate ice cream are my favorite. Go feed Wyatt! Put Wyatt down! I'm going to push mommy out....she has to go to work! Pearl you get down from there....you're not listening Pearl! Mommy, Pearl is not a good listener! Wyatt is my little man. Everybody lives in Minnesota mommy! She was drawing circles the other day and I asked her to draw a square. "I'm only 2 mommy, I can't draw a square!" Let's take a nap tomorrow. Let's cut our nails tomorrow.
She has also been in a gymnastics class for the past 4 months, Tumbelbears! We are non-stop practicing summersaults and jumping jack at our house! I can't believe how much she can say and do at 27 months old!
Wyatt is also getting to be a big boy. Last week we had a huge medical scare where I had to head to the ER. He had RSV which is basically a very bad cold. Since he was so congested they had to stick tubes down his chest and suction all the mucus out. It was so scary! He is doing much better now. The first week of daycare and he catches a cold!!! Wyatt is already so strong. He head and neck are strong where you can hold him up without holding his head. He is also grabbing everything and starting to put things into his mouth. He has just started to giggle which is so dang cute!
We were born and raised in Minnesota... in January 2005, 3 months after we were married, we packed a U-Haul and headed to Boca Raton, FL. Since then we bought a house in Boynton Beach, Lucas has completed his Master's Degree in Evolutionary Psychology at Florida Atlantic University and is now working towards the completion of his PhD, and I have been working in Human Resources for JM Family Enterprises.
On March 8, 2007 & March 19, 2009 our lives truly began when Gracyn Ella & Wyatt Lucas entered our world. Everyday has been a new adventure for us. We started this blog to keep in touch with all of our friends and family who we miss and love!
